About Me!
I was born and raised in BC on a farm in a tiny little community called Casino.
I moved to Lethbridge, AB in 2007 to pursue a career as an electrician, receiving my red seal in 2011. I was then nominated and featured in the 2022 DIRT magazine for women in the trades. Still Curious? There’s a link on my website-check it out!
The atmosphere of working in a field that is overwhelmingly rich in testosterone may have stifled a vital aspect of my personality; of who I am and what that represents.
I always had a feeling that something was missing. It’s like a part of me that just couldn’t find a way into expression. A fire from within dying to be lit. No pun intended here… 🙂
I had this ah-ha moment when I FINALLY admitted to myself that I have – well let’s just say a SLIGHT – obsession with scents. Some may call it a problem but I call it a gift?! 😉
Alright, moving on to why I chose candles! They are not only a great way to encapsulate my LOVE for scents but it is also a way to connect with a lovely soul just like the one reading this. The act of lighting a candle has its own power. It can make a difference in a mood, your mental state, an event or your environment. The list truly is endless. If I could make someone feel what I feel with a scent or feel something, wouldn’t that be impactful in the most beautiful way?
Sharing my love for scents with the world- I knew I had to stick to my values and not cut any corners. This meant getting rid of all the harmful chemicals typically found in candles today. I knew I had to harness a gorgeous, seductive scent in a clean way- a “Nosegasmic” way as I Would call it. Aka The No scent hangover..
My hope for you is that my candles not only light up your space but that they encourage that light inside of you to come alive. May my scents take you back to a place in time or forward to where you can dream, see (and smell!!) yourself into new possibilities.
Go, light your candles. Pause. Take a deep breath to BE with yourself in THAT moment. Know that beautiful things can be born from the unknown, the uncomfortable, the darkness…..we are all connected and that so much can happen from one tiny flame. Fan it baby!
And with that, Laluxx Candle Co. was born.
